Rizvi

Rizvi or Rizavi or رضوی is the Urdu form of the Arabic surname Radawi/Radhawi and the Persian surname Razavi. It is a surname commonly associated with Muslims who are the descendants of the Imam Ali al-Ridha and a descendant of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad through his daughter Fatimah. Since the Rizvi clan trace their lineage to Fatimah, they often use the prefix Sayyid (or its synonyms) in front of their name.
