Chandralekha[1] (Trans. Chandra And Leka) is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language soap opera that airs on Sun TV. The show premiered on 06 October 2014 and stars Shwetha Bandekar and Naagasri GS and Sandhya Jagarlamudi, Jai Dhanush and Arun Kumar Rajan. It is currently directed by A.P. Rajendran.[2][3] It is the longest running Tamil soap opera crossing 2000 episodes . The soap opera completes its 6 years and steps into the 7th year on 06 October 2021.
Plot
Meena and Vasundhara are long-lost sisters where Meena gone from her parents when she's a child. Meena give birth to Lekha and Vasundhara give birth to Chandra. After some kidnappers came to the hospital, the babies switched where Meena raised Chandra and Vasundhara raised Lekha. Chandra is benevolent and brave while Lekha is cunning and arrogant, like her adoptive mother. Meena only knows the truth that Chandra and Lekha are switched. Some events showed that Meena is adopted sister of Lekha's father.
Enters Sabari, an innocent man who running a non income matrimony. Meena fixed a man for Chandra marriage from the matrimony where Chandra and Sabari meet and fall in love with each other without expressing it. Lekha who saw Sabari start to love him too. Vasundhara who wants to take revenge on Chandra who attacked her while her journalism encounter and Meena for being her most praised sister-in-law, arranged an accuse, Vignesh for marry Chandra. Despite loving Sabari, Chandra agrees to marry Chandra because Meena and Azhagesan (Chandra's father) believes she will accept their offer.
Vignesh murdered Nandhini, a girl who he impregnated and wants to marry Chandra by acting he is good. Siddharth, is a police officer who searched for the accused who is Vignesh befriend Chandra and found out Vignesh is the accused. On the wedding day of Chandra and Vignesh, Chandra arrested him with help of Siddharth and marriage was stopped. Vasundhara was very happy but Meena who worried, really want her daughter to marry. They choose Sabari who really a good choice for Chandra. Sabari and Chandra was really happy of getting married and they ready for the marriage but Lekha end up blackmail the she will commit suicide. Chandra made Lekha as bride and inform Sabari to marry her for her wish and Meena happy for this forgetting about Chandra life. Vasundhara angry that her daughter married a poor man.
Sabari start to live with Lekha and they settled at Vasundhara house where Lekha pregnant but she aborted it to be young always which made Sabari angry but the unite with her. Lekha who knows love of Chandra and Sabari keep on blackmailing him. Chandra met a kind-hearted rich man, Sanjay, who loves Chandra at first sight. Chandra and Sanjay fall in love with each other. Their parents arranged their marriage. In this time, Siddharth daughter Abhi was kidnapped by his wife, Mangai father to get Mangai property. To avoid this and get Abhi, Siddharth should marry but a woman who loved him, Jeeva went for critical situation due her cancer. So Chandra registered for Siddharth but they divorced and Jeeva and Siddharth married instead. Chandra and Sanjay married with family blessings and love. Her enters Nila, Chandra's replica. Nila married her cousin Thiru with help of Chandra and Sanjay happily.
Lekha turn to a positive woman after Sabari had affair with Saranya, Lekha enemy. Lekha and Sabari reunited with very help of Chandra and Brindha aka Bhavani. Bhavani is nurse Brindha who lost her sister and took revenge for her. She married Surya, a mentally problematic man but a rich man. She takes vow to cure him to his evil stepmother. Chandra takes vow to settle down Sanjay cousin Devi life to Meenatchi. Lekha takes vow that she will win her life from poverty to Saranya. The story now is how Chandra, Lekha and Brindha will settle their problem with the antagonists.
