Birdpur

Birdpur [historical British variant as Birdpore] is a town in Siddharthnagar District in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is at an elevation of 92 metres (301 feet).

Birdpur was a minor estate (Zamindari) created by the British government. During the British regime, it was a part of the United Province. During 1896–1897, the town became widely known when archaeological excavation teams led by Mr William Peppé had found the stūpa, or cairn, erected by the Sākiya clan over their share of the ashes from the cremation pyre of the Buddha,You can see some historical buildings of those British people in Birdpur no.9 in a nearby village named.
