Reema Sathe
Reema Sathe (born 20th century) is an Indian Chemical Engineer and activist. She created a snack company that shares its profits more fairly with small farmers. She was awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar for her work in 2017.

Life
Sathe was trained as a chemical engineer.[1]
She started her beverage company, "Happy Roots" after working for seven years in the food and drink industry.[2] She left her steady job in 2014 to become self employed.[3] She was concerned by the number of suicides amongst small farmers while she was working for a new company named "Krishi Star"[2] as a marketing manager.[1]
She tried giving chickens to farmers so that she could then sell the eggs. The business created tasty eggs but the supply line led to breakages and rotten eggs. She had the model but the wrong product so she decided to focus on nonperishable food stuffs. She paid farmers 50% more than usual to supply her with raw materials to make snack food. In the case of women farmers in Ahmednagar their income has tripled as they grew buckweat for Sathe's business.[4] Her product range includes crackers and cookies made from wheat, buckwheat, Amarnath seeds, Flax seed and barley.[5]
Sathe gave a TEDx talk at "Serene Meadows" in July 2020 on the power of small changes.[6]
Awards
Sathe was awarded "Business Today"’s "Most Powerful Women" Award in 2017.[5]
Sathe was invited to the Presidential Palace (Rashtrapati Bhavan) in New Delhi on International Women’s Day in 2017 to be awarded the 2016 Nari Shakti Puraskar.[7] She was one of 27 women who were recognised and five organisations were also honoured.[3] At the awards she met another award winner Ringyuichon Vashum from Manipur. She would later visit Manipur to see how she could help the people there.
