Akash Thosar (born 24 February 1994) is a Marathi film and Web series actor.[2][3] [4]He is best known for his role as Parshya in the Marathi film Sairat.[5][6][7]

Personal life

Akash Thosar's father does construction of houses and his mother is a housewife. He is from middle class family. He has two sister and one brother. His sisters were married before he acted in Sairat (2016). He attended school at Pune till 11th grade. He was a wrestling enthusiast and wanted to learn wrestling, for that he moved to Jeur village. He took admission to a college in Jeur for 12th grade and also continued his wrestling practice.[8]

Career

Thosar was born and raised in a small village Jeur in Karmala in Solapur district, Maharashtra. A former wrestler,[9] Thosar was spotted at a railway station in Solapur by Bharat Manjule, Sairat director Nagraj Manjule's brother, inviting Akash to audition for the lead role.[10] He debut in film industry with movie Sairat in 2016 the immense success of these movie he get 5 crore rupees each as bonus.[11] Thosar later starred in the lead role in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi movie FU: Friendship Unlimited in 2017.[12][13]

In the latest 2018 Netflix original “Lust Stories”, an anthology film, Thosar paired opposite Radhika Apte in the first story directed by Anurag Kashyap.[14] He will be seen in Jhund directed by Nagraj Manjule.[15][16][17][18][19] He is also casted in 1962: The War in the Hills as army officer.[20][21][22][23]
