ReceptionEdit
Critical responseEdit
Rediff wrote "The story breaks into a song every few minutes and watching Rajendar romancing in his rainbow coloured costumes and clumsy dancing is sure to tickle your funny bone. The action sequences, however, are well choreographed. The movie has a number of monologues of varying durations from Rajendar -- he launches into a soliloquy at the drop of a hat. Making no secret of his political inclinations, Rajendar makes liberal references to his son Simbu, which is totally unrelated to the story".[5] Bbthots wrote "Veerasamy is a pretty much a collage of everything that is wrong with Tamil cinema today. Horrendous acting, bad dialogs, regressive themes, distasteful romance, unfunny comedy, unbelievable stunts, vulgar song sequences... you name it, you can find it in this film".[6] Kollywood Today wrote "Too many characters and parallel story makes story too difficult to understand, and T.R lengthy dialogue tuned down well too".[7] Veerasamy has a mediocre rating of 2/5 on the user critic site mouthShut.[8] Ananda vikatan stated,"marks can be given to test.but, how to give marks to poisonous test" and refused to give marks.[9]
