احمد شاہ ابدالی کے 8 بیٹے تھے 1 ، شہزادہ سلیمان ، 2 امیر تیمور شاہ، 3 شہزادہ شھاب، 4 شہزادہ سنجر، 5 شہزادہ یزدان بخش ، 6 شہزادہ سکندر ، 7, شہزادہ داراب، 8 شہزادہ پرویزاحمد شاہ ابدالی 1747تا 1772 تیمور شاہ 1772 تا 1793 زمان شاہ 1793 تا 1801 محمد شاہ 1801 تا 1803 شاہ شجاع 1803 تا 1809 علی شاہ 1818 تا 1819 ایوب شاہ 1819 تا 1823 میں امیر ایوب شاہ نے 1819 میں اپنے بھائی علی شاہ درانی کو تخت سے معزول کرکے قتل کر دیا اور خود تخت نشین ہوا علی شاہ درانی کا بڑا بیٹا سردار اللہ یار والد کے قتل کے بعد شمالی افغانستان موجودہ پاکستان کے صوبہ خیبر پختونخوا منتقل ہو گئےاور اس کے ساتھ ہی احمد شاہ ابدالی یا درانی کے پوتو کے درمیان تخت و تاج پر لڑائیوں نے درانی خاندان کو افغانستان کے تخت و تاج سے محروم کر دیا
