This college began its journey in 2015, with the objective of spreading quality higher education in one of the backward blocks in the district of Paschim Medinipur. It offers undergraduate courses in arts and science. It is affiliated to Vidyasagar University.[2]

The college is located at Kashmuli in Danton II block, one of the remote corner of Paschim Medinipur district of Westbengal, India. The nearest Municipality area is Egra which is 10 km away and the nearest town Kharagpur is 54 km away. The distance of the college from Kolkata is about 180 km.
