The Stargate Project
The Stargate Project [lower-alpha 1] is a new AI company formed by OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle, and MGX. This company aims to invest up to $500 billion in AI infrastructure across the United States by 2029. The project was announced on January 21, 2025, by former President Donald Trump. Masayoshi Son will serve as the chairman of the company.

At a White House press conference on 21 January 2025, The US President Donald Trump introduced a new company alongside Sam Altman from OpenAI, Larry Ellison from Oracle, and Masayoshi Son from SoftBank. President Trump described it as the largest AI infrastructure project in history and mentioned that he would use emergency declarations to speed up its development, especially in the area of energy infrastructure.[1] The company began with an initial investment of 86,58,47,50,00,000.00 ₹ ([lower-alpha 2]), with the potential to grow to 4,32,41,24,65,00,000.00 ₹ ([lower-alpha 3]) by 2029.[2]
The company is currently constructing 10 data centers in Texas,[3][2] with plans to expand to additional states. President Trump has stated that he will issue executive orders to facilitate the building of the company's infrastructure. The new company projects that it will generate over 100,000 jobs across the United States. According to Altman, SoftBank will handle the financial aspects of the company, while OpenAI will manage the operational side. The key technology partners in this venture include Arm, Microsoft, Nvidia, Oracle, and OpenAI.
