Sanjaynagar is one of the prominent residential areas located in North of Bangalore, India. Established in the late seventies, it is now a sprawling locality in Bangalore. Located to the left side of NH 7, which leads to Kempegowda International Airport, Sanjaynagar comprises many colonies, established by the employees associations of N.G.E.F., HAL, CIL, Central Excise, Postal Colony, Siddhi Vinayaka Layout, and many such colonies which are a part of the local vocabulary while referring to their location. Due to its proximity to the International Airport, this is one of the most sought after locations in North Bangalore.

Sanjaynagar is closer to central business district within 8 km (5 miles) from Bangalore City railway station, Vidhana Soudha and M G Road and is less than 2 km from Outer Ring Road. It is well connected to technical institutions such as M. S. Ramaiah Engineering College, Rajiv Gandhi Institute Of Technology and hospital, and Indian Institute of Science. It is at a distance of about 2 km from Hebbal Fly Over beginning from Mekhri circle side. It is also close to several important organizations - the headquarters of ISRO being one of them.

Sanjaynagar has a theatre called Vaibhav theatre which screens regional language, Bollywood and Hollywood movies. The entire area is dotted with a lot of parks, many of which have children play areas. Sanjaynagar also houses the Radhakrishna Temple which is a prominent landmark. The Sanjayanagar Police Station is right next to the temple.

The most prominent road in this area is the Sanjaynagar main road which has grocery stores, cafes, dry cleaning, pet store, stationary shops, milk booth and restaurants. Important landmarks on this road are Reliance Fresh and RMV Hospital. Many other hospitals and numerous medical stores are located on both sides of the road.

Sanjayanagar is regarded as one of the posh localities in Bangalore. Many politicians, ministers, judges, and some police personnel stay in Sanjayanagar. University of Agriculture Sciences which is located behind Sanjayanagar towards NH 7 on Bellary Road is a large lung space which attracts morning walkers and fitness enthusiasts.
