Batkhela, a prominent city and tahasila in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, serves as the district headquarters of Malakand. As per the 2017 Census of Pakistan, the city had a population of 68,200. Known for its bustling commercial activity, Batkhela is among the key business hubs in the region.

A major source of electricity generation for the area comes from a water canal that flows into a small dam near Jabban, close to Batkhela. This setup plays a vital role in meeting local energy needs.
