This category is intended for files that were put in the public domain by their copyright holder or the copyright on which has expired; also for files ineligible for copyright because they were created by public authorities (depending on the jurisdiction) or are otherwise ineligible for copyright protection.

The English Bharatpedia allows files to be hosted here which are public domain in the United States, but not their source country. However, a work that is in the public domain in its home country can sometimes be under copyright in the United States and so can not be used on Bharatpedia.
