Fazlur Rahman Faruque is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former Member of Parliament from Tangail-8. He received the Ekushey Padak in 2021 for his contribution to Bangladesh Liberation war.[1]
Career
Faruque was elected to Parliament in 1973 from Tangail-8 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate.[2] In 2008, he served as the General Secretary of the Tangail District unit of Bangladesh Awami League.[3] In 2017, he served as president of Tangail District unit of Bangladesh Awami League.[4] He is the District Council Administrator of Tangail.[5] His only Son Khan Ahmed Shuvo got AL nomination for MP candidate from Tangail-7 parliamentary by-polls scheduled to be held on the Jan 16, 2022.[6]
