Paulami Sengupta was the executive editor of Bengali magazines under ABP House in India; including "Desh, Sananda", a magazine for grown ups, Anandamela, a children's magazine published in Bengali from Kolkata, India; Unish Kuri, the teen magazine of Eastern India, and Anandalok, a magazine covering the film industry. She died on 17 October 2018 in Kolkata. She was survived by her daughter, mother and younger sister.
Paulami Sengupta Memorial Foundation is an initiative taken by her family members, who wished to take forward what she started and always stood for – bringing young writing talents into the forefront and giving them a boost. She always believed the editor's job is to bring out hidden talents, only then our literature legacy will grow. The foundation takes an oath to walk on her path and support true talent in the field of art and literature, as a tribute to Paulami Sengupta.
