Akhtar Husain (Urdu: اختر حُسَین),
(1900–1972) was an Indian classical musician who belonged to one of the major houses of classical music named Patiala Gharana from India and Pakistan.[1]
He was a son of the founder of Patiala Gharana, Ali Baksh Jarnail (1850-1920), and he was the father and teacher of Ustad Fateh Ali Khan and Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, the renowned classical music duo from Pakistan.[2]
