She is the youngest consort of Thongaren, the god of death and the ruler of Khamnung (underworld).[1] She was made to accompany Poireiton, her brother in law, with whom she gave birth to a son.[2][3][4] She is credited for making the first earthen pot in the legend.[5] Her pantheon is mainly maintained by the Ashangbam clan of the Meitei ethnicity.[6]
