Sanskrit Bharatpedia
Hi, I've noticed that you've been making a lot of valuable contributions to Sanskrit-related articles on Bharatpedia. I really appreciate the time and effort you've been putting into improving the Sanskrit content.
Given your interest and contributions, I wanted to ask whether you would be interested in helping manage the sa:Sanskrit Bharatpedia. If you're interested, I can ask our tech team to set up the Sanskrit Bharatpedia for you to manage and provide you with the user rights required to manage and maintain the project.
I think your experience and continued contributions could be very valuable to the growth of Sanskrit Bharatpedia. Please let me know if this is something you'd be interested in. Thank you again for your excellent contributions! WikiDwarf (talk) 13:00, 27 September 2026 (IST)
- I know Sanskrit and can help, but the main issue is that hardly anyone knows Sanskrit. That is why, even if we write articles in Sanskrit, almost no one reads them. I think it is better to write articles about Sanskrit topics in English so that people can actually read them. It is also worth noting that Sanskrit readers can generally read English, but the reverse is not true. If you can import articles from the Sanskrit Wikipedia, we can then make the necessary changes. A barnstar for you!
|
The Janitor's Barnstar
Dokania, I award you this barnstar in recognition of your dedicated maintenance work in tagging and clearing nonsense draft pages through CSD. Keeping Bharatpedia free of clutter and low-quality drafts takes real patience, and your keen eye ensures our encyclopedia stays clean and credible. Keep up the excellent work! |
- If CSD feature works in twinkle then it would be easier. Dokania (talk) 23:19, 27 September 2026 (IST)
- Wikidwarf is working on the Twinkle project, and it will be fixed soon. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 23:48, 27 September 2026 (IST)
Hi there
You’re right that you have the ability to close some discussions as you did here[1], but I’d inform you to keep venue-specific closure norms in mind, because closing is not just a procedural button....it’s a judgment about consensus, policy, and who is allowed to assess that consensus. At AfD, the normal practice is for an uninvolved administrator to close the discussion. That is especially true for delete, BLP/legal/privacy-sensitive, contentious, or complex cases, and for any outcome that needs sysop tools. An uninvolved non-admin editor may close a clear-cut AfD, typically keep, no consensus, or redirect/merge when the result is obvious, no admin tools are needed, and there is no serious challenge. A non-admin should not close if they are involved, have commented, nominated, or !voted in the discussion. If the close would require deletion, protection, revision deletion, or sanctions, leave it to an admin. For requested moves, any uninvolved editor can close if consensus is clear, but technical moves may still need a page mover or admin. For noticeboards such as BP:AN, closures are normally handled by admins or clerks; non-admins should only close clear procedural threads and should leave blocks, sanctions, and contentious disputes to admins. For technical village pump threads, if implementation requires sysop or interface-admin rights or a Phabricator task, it’s usually best to leave the close to someone with the relevant rights or to summarize without closing. When you do close, please give a brief rationale, cite the relevant policy and guideline, and state the outcome clearly - keep, delete, merge, redirect, no consensus, relist, etc. If your close is challenged, don’t wheel-war; discuss it or let an admin review it. Thanks. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 20:36, 8 October 2026 (IST)
- I would have appreciated if you could have gave "in a nutshell" instead of long read about closing rights which seems to complex. Instead just tell me what to do now because I haven't involved myself with AfD discussion closings or such.. Dokania😎(📩) 20:41, 8 October 2026 (IST)
Notable draft topics
Hi Dokania, just a suggestion. Many drafts have notable topics, so moving them to mainspace as basic stubs helps more than CSD. Happy editing! 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 12:24, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- Can you give some examples? Dokania😎(📩) 12:46, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- Like Ladia and List of Hindi films of 1913. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 12:55, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- If there was only one movie, how can there be a list for 1913? I think the same reason is why it's not there on Wikipedia too. Also, Ladia isn't found by me in the references provided, implying its a hoax. Dokania😎(📩) 13:01, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- stop citing Wikipedia. Ladia is not a hoax; the Joshua Project also documents it[2], I found this source on the first page of a Google search without even looking into news sources, the Internet Archive, or Google books or other libraries. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 13:07, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- Doesn't your joshua project reference (of rajuput community) itself confirms ladia article (of marwari business community) is a hoax? Dokania😎(📩) 13:10, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- No, the community members exist in both community, [3][4]. If the topic is notable, then no need to tag csd, instead improve the content and move it to namespace. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 13:15, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- There are thousands and thousands of such communities while larger groups like Bania, Rajput are notable smaller inter-groups aren't. People should ideally create community wikies for listing them like [Jatland.com] Dokania😎(📩) 13:19, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- Communities and castes are notable regardless of their population size, whether small or large. Their articles can be included in the main namespace if reliable sources are available. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 13:28, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- “A company, corporation, organization, group, product, or service is notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject.”
- Bharatpedia:Notability (organizations and companies) Dokania😎(📩) 13:36, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- Joushua project provide significant coverage. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 13:38, 17 October 2026 (IST)

Wikisource
Hi Dokania, I have noticed that you have cited Wikisource scripts as primary reference in a some articles. Please avoid relying on Wikisource, as its content can be edited by volunteers and may not always accurately reflect the original source. For primary sources, I will suggest you to use the Internet Archive to locate the original book (eg), verify the relevant page number, and cite the exact text (eg). However, always try to support primary sources with reliable secondary or tertiary sources to avoid original research. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 18:38, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- I think that problem can be solved by archiving the wikisource so that content isn't changed afterwards. Sometimes its hard to locate some works and also hard to locate the same shlokas there due to print and index mismatch. Wikisource relies on original PDFs for its material. Dokania😎(📩) 18:56, 17 October 2026 (IST)
- No, wikisource isn't reliable source. Use secondary/tertiary sources. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 20:14, 17 October 2026 (IST)
You tagged this draft for speedy deletion under CSD G10, but that criterion doesn't appear to apply here. The article doesn't contain attacks, insults, or defamatory content targeting any person or organization. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 13:08, 18 October 2026 (IST)
- I thought it means negative "or" unsourced Dokania😎(📩) 13:10, 18 October 2026 (IST)
Always double-check your citation additions[5]. The URL (https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/indias-state-owned-kabil-signs-lithium-exploration-deal-in-argentina) does not exist. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 22:38, 18 October 2026 (IST)
