== Hi there  ==
You’re right that you have the ability to close some discussions as you did here[https://en.bharatpedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bharatpedia:Village_pump_(technical)&curid=336200&diff=566319&oldid=566314], but I’d inform you to keep venue-specific closure norms in mind, because closing is not just a procedural button....it’s a judgment about consensus, policy, and who is allowed to assess that consensus. At AfD, the normal practice is for an uninvolved administrator to close the discussion. That is especially true for delete, BLP/legal/privacy-sensitive, contentious, or complex cases, and for any outcome that needs sysop tools. An uninvolved non-admin editor may close a clear-cut AfD, typically keep, no consensus, or redirect/merge when the result is obvious, no admin tools are needed, and there is no serious challenge. A non-admin should not close if they are involved, have commented, nominated, or !voted in the discussion. If the close would require deletion, protection, revision deletion, or sanctions, leave it to an admin. For requested moves, any uninvolved editor can close if consensus is clear, but technical moves may still need a page mover or admin. For noticeboards such as BP:AN, closures are normally handled by admins or clerks; non-admins should only close clear procedural threads and should leave blocks, sanctions, and contentious disputes to admins. For technical village pump threads, if implementation requires sysop or interface-admin rights or a Phabricator task, it’s usually best to leave the close to someone with the relevant rights or to summarize without closing. When you do close, please give a brief rationale, cite the relevant policy and guideline, and state the outcome clearly - keep, delete, merge, redirect, no consensus, relist, etc. If your close is challenged, don’t wheel-war; discuss it or let an admin review it. Thanks. Sanskrit Bharatpedia

Hi, I've noticed that you've been making a lot of valuable contributions to Sanskrit-related articles on Bharatpedia. I really appreciate the time and effort you've been putting into improving the Sanskrit content.

Given your interest and contributions, I wanted to ask whether you would be interested in helping manage the sa:Sanskrit Bharatpedia. If you're interested, I can ask our tech team to set up the Sanskrit Bharatpedia for you to manage and provide you with the user rights required to manage and maintain the project.

I think your experience and continued contributions could be very valuable to the growth of Sanskrit Bharatpedia. Please let me know if this is something you'd be interested in. Thank you again for your excellent contributions! WikiDwarf (talk) 13:00, 27 September 2026 (IST)Reply

I know Sanskrit and can help, but the main issue is that hardly anyone knows Sanskrit. That is why, even if we write articles in Sanskrit, almost no one reads them. I think it is better to write articles about Sanskrit topics in English so that people can actually read them. It is also worth noting that Sanskrit readers can generally read English, but the reverse is not true. If you can import articles from the Sanskrit Wikipedia, we can then make the necessary changes. You’re right that you have the ability to close some discussions as you did here[1], but I’d inform you to keep venue-specific closure norms in mind, because closing is not just a procedural button....it’s a judgment about consensus, policy, and who is allowed to assess that consensus.
