Oviul Maruf (born 3 December 2007) is a Bangladeshi independent photographer.[1] He gained recognition through featured publications in multiple international art and photography magazines for his nature photography series titled Botanical Silence. His project focuses on minimalist compositions showcasing botanical forms and has been featured in Paris-based L'Œil de la Photographie, Italy's Collater.al, Australia's Byron Magazine, and the contemporary photography platform LENSCRATCH.[2][3][4][5][6][7]
Early Life and Education[edit source]
Oviul Maruf was born on 3 December 2007 in Habiganj District, Bangladesh.[8] He later completed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 2024 and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in 2026 at Jalalabad Cantonment Public School and College in Sylhet.[9][10]
Photography Career[edit source]
Maruf began practicing photography in 2022. The primary themes of his work revolve around quiet natural forms, the interplay of light and shadow, and abstract emotional expressions.[11][12]
His notable photography series include:
- Botanical Silence: A minimalist series centered around the structural shapes of plants and foliage.[5]
