He is said to have lived around thousand years ago. Pandit Yellappa Shashtri was the first one to decipher his creation, ''[[Siribhoovalaya]]''. Karlamangalam Srikantaiah, the editor of the first edition, claims that the work may have been composed around 800 AD.
