R. Eswaran is an Indian politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Vasudevanallur constituency, in the 1984,[1] 1989,[2] and 1991 elections[3] as an Indian National Congress candidate. He then won the same seat in 1996[4] and 2001 as a Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) candidate.[5] Before becoming an MLA he took charge as the President of Ramanathapuram Panchayat in Tirunelveli District.
