Rony was born on 7th of April 1967 at Shyampur village, Upozila - Sadarpur, Zilla - Faridpur. His mother name is Monowara Begum and Father is Samsuddin Munshi. His Father was a renowned businessman and doing his business in the Patuakhali district since 1964. Later on he moved his family the to Ulania Bandar, Galachipa Upozila,  Patuakhali.

In the 9th national parliamentary election, Rony was elected to be the MP from 113  Patuakhali-3 constituency and got the highest vote in the south belt of Bangladesh. He is well known political analyst , popular writer, and influential columnist in the country. Golam Maula Rony (born c. 1967) is a Bangladeshi politician and businessman. He is a former Jatiya Sangsad member for the Patuakhali-3 constituency representing Bangladesh Awami League. He joined Bangladesh Nationalist Party in November 2018.[1]
