The maidservants gave Princess Dharmavati a garland and her father asked her to go and put the garland on the prince which you like. When she came across [[Duryodhana]], [[Duryodhana]] said, "O dear Dharmavati, put the garland on me.", but Dharmavati refused to put the garland and went to [[Dushasana]], he did the same thing with her and she again rejected,  when she came to [[Dhrishtadyumna]], her eyes were filled with joy and happiness and she put the garland on [[Dhrishtadyumna]] and he took her to [[Hastinapura]] happily.

Dharmavati is the wife of Dhrishtadyumna in some legends. She is also known as the cousin sister of Bhanumati, the wife of Duryodhana.

She was the daughter of Dhanraja. When she grew up, her father was worried about her marriage and was thinking about a groom who loved his daughter, Dharmavati.
