Jishnu Raghavan Alingkil, known mononymously as Jishnu, was an Indian actor who was predominantely appeared in Malayalam,Tamil and Hindi films. He was the son of actor Raghavan, who also directed Jishnu's debut film Kilipattu which was selected for the Indian Panorama.
Early life and Education
Jishnu is the son of Malayalam film actor and director Raghavan and Shobha. He did his schooling in Chennai and later at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. He also won the best student award during his time in school and has a BTECH Mechanical Engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology, Kozhikode.
Acting Career
Jishnu Raghavan a promising career, first appearing as a child artist in the 1987 film Kilippattu. After that, he was Kamal in 2002.He made his film debut opposite Siddharth in the film directed by Nammal. Blockbuster, commercial success. His performance in the film won him the Matrubhumi Awards and Kerala Film Critics Award for Best Debut Male. He followed it up with supporting roles in Choonda, Freedom, Parayam, Two Wheeler, Njaan, Nerariyan CBI, Pauran , Yugapurushan, and negative role in Chakkara Muthu.
Along with a few uncredited films, he took a break from the film industry to work on developing information technology in rural areas. He later returned to the film industry with Ordinary films, after which he did cameos in Nidra, Banking Hours 10 to 4 and Ustad Hotel. He was also offered to act in the 2012 release Prabhuvinte Makkal. After that,After Annum Innum Ennum, director Rajesh Nair said it had already grabbed eyeballs through its unique marketing. Now it is reported that actor Jishnu, who played the protagonist in this film, is supervising the production of this film. The actor, who is thinking of starting his own production house, said that as a start to his production dreams, he is working as a film supervisor even though he is not a producer. The young actor said that the team consists of young staff and they have been selected. Rajesh made sure that the staff had good young people. All of them have come forward to prove their mettle in the industry. On the sets it was shown that everyone was very wired,
He also experimented with acting at Barry John Theater Studios in Mumbai. In the same year , he signed his upcoming films Misfit alongside Vineeth and his father and actor Raghavan Indian Coffee House along with Siddharth Shiva's iPhone, but these films did not release in theatres. Also, he signed the film Veerappa, but at that time he was diagnosed with cancer in 2014.
Before his treatment continued, he successfully completed his Tamil debut as the lead actor in the 2015 film Kallappadam opposite Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli; It received positive reviews.
During his first battle with cancer, his friends made a short film called Speechless. He dedicated it to him. It has been doing the rounds in the online space for a long time. It is written and directed by debutant Jolly Joseph; It's about a college lecturer whose life is drastically changed by cancer. The short film stars film producer Shafir Saith, who is also Jishnu's friend, in the lead role.
He made his debut in Bollywood with a negative role in the 2016 release Traffic. He has also acted in short films, most notably Karma Games with Adarsh Balakrishna, which was shot in 2013 and released in 2017. This is his directorial debut. Cinematography . Adarsh Balakrishna paid tribute to Jishnu by releasing this short film. In total, Jishnu acted in 25 films in his 11 years of experience.[1] Following through with some unnoticed movies he took a break from the film Industry to work for developing information technology in the rural areas. Then he returned to filmdom with the superhit film Ordinary following which he did Nidra, Ustad Hotel, Banking Hours 10 to 4, Annum Innum Ennum and Rebecca Uthup Kizhakkemala.[2]
Personal life
He is married to his long time girlfriend Dhanya Rajan who is an architect. They got married in 2007 and she is also Jishnu Raghavan's junior during their NIT days.[3]
Prolong Battle with Cancer
Jishnu was diagnosed with cancer two years ago and had been completely cured of it. But his cancer relapsed and since then he had been undergoing treatment for the same. He passed away at the age of 36 after prolonged battle with cancer on Friday morning at 8.15 AM at Amrita Hospital in Kochi.[4]
