Khati is a carpenter caste found primarily in Haryana. They are classified as an OBC caste, and use Jangra/Jangir title. Not all Jangra/Jangir are khati,some are Bramhin and some are vishwakarma.

'KHATI' Means the one who works with wood. The Hindi word 'काठ' 'KATH' means wood, and the one who works with it called 'काठी' 'KATHI' which became later 'खाती' KHATI.
