| A unit of “U.P. State Sugar Corporation Limited” was established in 1912 at Bhatni, district Deoria with capital investment of 73.64 lakh, crushing capacity 1016 TCD and employment of 1000 persons which has presently 20 crore.<ref>{{Cite document|url=https://www.academia.edu/34660526|title = Evolution and Growth of Sugar Industry in Eastern Uttar Pradesh|last1 = Tiwari|first1 = Anil Kumar}}</ref> When the major share-holding of the newly built Sugar Mill was purchased by Noori Miya and Co. around 1921 or so, he put the foundation of a commercial and residential area. This area near the newly built Sugar Mill was known among the people as Nooriganj Bazar after his name. Noori Mian was a well known member of the Iraqi Birdri/or Iraqi Sayyids of Eastern U.P., and was a successful and enterprising human being.
