Sujit Mondal was born on 5 October in [[Kolkata]] to a [[Bengalis|Bengali]] family. He completed his study in Kolkata and later he shifted in Mumbai. Then he started assisting director [[Shakti Shamanta]] and later he joined Bhat camp as an assistant director.
Sujit was chief assistant director in 1998 for Ghulam, 2002 for Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage, 2005 for Elaan.
