Shriram Group is an Indian conglomerate founded on 5 April 1974 by Ramamurthy Thyagarajan,[3] AVS Raja and T. Jayaraman. They have their headquarters in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.[4][5][6] The group had its beginning in chit funds business and later on entered the lending business through Shriram Transport Finance (Commercial Vehicle Finance), Shriram City Union Finance (Consumer and MSME Finance) and Shriram General Insurance Co. Ltd. (General insurance).

Companies

  • Shriram Transport Finance Company is the largest commercial vehicle financier in India. It disburses loans for new and used commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, tractors and construction equipment.[7]
  • Shriram City Union Finance is engaged in small and medium enterprise lending and retail financing including two-wheeler loans.[8][9]
  • Shriram Housing Finance is a subsidiary of Shriram City Union Finance and mainly provides home loan services.[10]
