Surinder Singh Nijjar (7 June 1949 – 26 March 2021) was a judge of the Supreme Court of India.[1] J. Nijjar was formerly the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court. J. Nijjar was a known name in the field of arbitration law, having delivered many landmark judgments like BALCO, Enercon India v. Enercon Gmbh, Reliance Industries Ltd & Ors. v. Union of India, Swiss Timing Ltd. v. Organising Committee, Commonwealth Games, 2010.

J. Nijjar obtained LLB Degree from the University of London in 1972.

Middle Temple[edit | edit source]

J. Nijjar was unanimously elected as Master Bencher, the Hon'ble Society of Middle Temple, London, UK in 2011. His lordship continued to hold this position. (https://www.middletemple.org.uk/bencher-persons-view?cid=38608)
