The college is situated near the Indo-Bangladesh border and also in a backward semi-urban area. Most of the inhabitants of the locality and its adjoining surroundings are farmers and belongs to the scheduled caste community (67% population belongs to S.C. community). For the development of higher education in the locality and to inculcate social, cultural, moral and humane values, establishment of a college was deemed as utmost necessity. With this end in view, the institution was founded with the help of collective efforts of the local people and educational enthusiasts to meet the need of the local students, mostly from backward classes, for value-based higher education. | ||
