Her father Dhanraja held a swayamvara, in that he invited [[Duryodhana]], [[Dushasana]], [[Dhrishtadyumna]], and many other warriors. [[Dushasana]], seeing her beauty got mesmerized on her and also [[Duryodhana]]. Dharmavati didn't like the way the [[Kaurava]] saw her in a shameful manner. The maidservants gave Princess Dharmavati a garland and her father asked her to go and put the garland on the prince which you like.
