The four stars of each symbol represent the Bangladeshi patriotic basic principles: Democracy, Socialism, Secularism and Nationalism - গণতন্ত্র, সমাজতন্ত্র, ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতা এবং জাতীয়তাবাদ "These are four stars in each sign depict these basic principles: democracatism, socialist, secularists and nationalists."
