The Arjuna Awards were established by the government of India in 1961. The honour recognizes "outstanding achievement in sports and games". The award includes a cash prize.[1] The Arjuna Awards recognise the achievements of the country’s sportsmen.[2]
The symbol of the award is a small bronze statue of Arjuna with his bow.[3]
