The story revolves around five people. Ramesh (Kamal Haasan), a city bred man is married to Kasthurie (Sumithra), a village girl. On the other hand, Ravishankar (Vijayakumar), a village lad and Menaka (Phataphat Jayalakshmi), a modern woman are married. Meanwhile, Bhama (Sripriya), a young girl wants at least to have a child with Ramesh, and is attracted by him even if he doesn't marry her.
