Chandel (Hindi:चन्द+ऐल=चन्देल), a name derived from the Hindu lord Chand (Chandra) and Ael, direct descendant of goddess Ila (daughter of Vaivasvat Manu),[1][2] a Chandravanshi Rajput clan of India and changed name of Vrishni and Chedi clan of Yadu-Haihayavansh.[3][4] Chandel clan is the highest among all the clans in Rajputs or Kshatriys and is a cheif of the Chandravansh.[5]
