Maharajadhiraj Sukhdevvarman, son of Chandel King Kapotdevvarman, was born in 195 AD. Sukhdev's surname was Chandra.  One day, when King Sukhdevvarman had gone hunting riding a horse, he was shot by arrows from the spies of the enemy kingdom. Now when Hemavati, a Brahmin's daughter, saw him injured, she took him to her ashram and treated them.  Both of them remained there for several months until Sukhdevavarman completely recovered and they fell in love with each other. Then Sukhdevvarman introduces himself to them and says that I am coming in a few days to get married. But when they go to the capital, Suddenly war starts and they have to immediately move to another country for war. Sukhdevvarman remained busy in wars for 1 year, then when he returned to Chanderi from the war, he immediately went towards Hemavati and married his beloved Hemavati who was waiting for him. Hemavati became pregnant after 3-4 years of marriage. After some time, Nagraj Ishwardutt attacked Chanderi. Sukhdevvarman was died due to an heavy injury state on the banks of the Ken River on September 27, 224 AD. Maharajadhiraj Chandravarman, son of Sukhdevvarman, was born on Magh Sudi Ekadashi, Vikrama Samvat 225 (January 168 AD), between the third and fourth hours of the night. Chandravarman I has been called 'Pramati' in ancient history due to his being a very intelligent person. Description of Nripashrestha Pramati is available in Matsyapuran and Brahmandapuran - In the evening period of Swayambhuva Manvantar, there used to be a king named Chandragotriya Pramati in Bhrigu dynasty to rule those unrighteous people. Here, the phrase'भृगुणां च कुले स्थितः' indicates the clan of Chandrabrahma's Brahmin descendant mother Hemvati and the phrase 'गोत्रेण वै चन्द्रमसो' indicates the 'Chandrayan' gotra of Maharaj Sukhdevvarman or Chandel dynasty. This is a popular and scientifically based fact. Chandrakulotpanna Nripashrestha Pramati has also been said to be an incarnation of Vishnu and the son of the Chandra. From this it becomes clear that the supreme God and the supremely intelligent Chandravarman is the real Pramati. The word 'Deva' in the word 'Nridevasyeh' indicates the name Devant of the lineage of Chandravarman's ancestors - Chandrakulotpann Nripashrestha Pramati has also been said to be an incarnation of Vishnu and the son of Chandra. From this it becomes clear that the supreme God and the supremely intelligent Chandravarman is the real Pramati.

About three centuries after the reign of Emperor Vikramaditya, the originator of Vikram Samvat, Shrimatparambhattark Maharajadhiraj Chandravarman became a Kshetra emperor of India. To commemorate the victory of Bengal, he established 'Vishnu Dhwaj' on a mountain named 'Vishnupad' near the Vyas river in Punjab province. Later, his successors established an iron pillar, which was later converted by the ruler of Delhi, Anangpal Tomar, and installed at a place called Mehrauli, The inscription engraved on it is an indication of the intact glory of Shrimatparambhattark Maharajadhiraj Chandravarman -
===Early life===
Chandravarman was born on the third prahar of the night of Magh Sudi Ekadashi, Vikram Samvat 225 (168 AD). His father's name was Sukadevvarman Dev Chandel and mother's name was Supriya Devi Chandel, who was from a Panduvanshi Rajput family before marriage. He defeated the Shaka ruler Jeevadaman in a war with his father Agnivarman and drove the Shakas out of Mahishmati and confined them to the northern part of Avanti. When he was 16, he fell in love with a Bhargava Brahmin girl named Sulochana. Chandravarman talked about marriage to his priests, but they explained to him that inter-caste marriage is strictly prohibited in Kaliyug, the son becomes a hybrid and the entire clan including the ancestors fall into a severe hell for several Manvantars or Kalpas. But Chandravarman did not agree, he then asked his chief priest, then the chief priest told him, look prince, everything is the wish of Bholenath, what can we do now, we cannot go against religion, right. Hearing this, Chandravarman thought a lot and then he told his girlfriend that I am going to do penance of Mahadev, if it is successful then I will come back. After this, without telling anyone, he went to do penance in the hills of Kalinjar. Then he did severe penance of Lord Shankar. Even after so much penance, when Lord Shankar did not come, Chandravarman cried and called Mahadev loudly and cut off his head and offered it in front of Shivalinga. Then immediately Lord Shankar appeared there and brought him back to life by joining Chandravarman's head again. Then Shiv Ji asked Chandravarman to ask for a boon. As a boon, Chandravarman asked for this boon that his son and his direct descendants should never become a hybrid and his dynasty should never end and be extremely glorious. Then after that Lord Mahadev asked Chandravarman to go and build a fort on the hills of Kalinjar, where Mahadev had once stayed after drinking the poison Halahal. Chandravarman built a grand fort in Kalinjar. Then by then Mahadev, Chandra Dev and the priest of the gods Brihaspati appeared there and the coronation of Chandravarman began. Then Mahadev coronated him and he became the king of Kalinjar. Chandra Dev presented the Paras stone as a gift to this direct and great descendant of his in happiness. Iron could be converted into gold with the Paras stone. After this Chandravarman married Sulochana in the presence of Mahadev. Mahadev ordered Chandravarman that at this time religion is being harmed by the mlechha and many Shudras (who do not have the right to become kings) and unrighteous Kshatriyas have become kings. You should destroy them and re-establish the religion. Then Mahadev gave Chandrahas sword and said, go son, make your dynasty famous in the world and destroy the unrighteous, I am always with you. Saying this, Lord Mahesh disappeared.

===Military campaign and reign===

According to Mahadev's words, Chandravarman set out with his army of Chandel Rajputs/Kshatriyas to conquer the world and establish religion by killing the unrighteous. He reestablished Dharma by killing all the Mlechchha and Shudra kings. While returning, he asked the sons of those Mlechchha kings to return to the path of religion and made them their subordinate kings and returned to Kalinjar. Then he performed Rajsuya Yagya and became Ekshatra Chakravarti Emperor. Thereafter, he rebuilt 85 golden temples and Kashi Vishwanath temple. Chandravarman saw Lord Chandradev after the yagya on the full moon day. Chandradev said to Chandravarman, O Chandel Kulbhushan, ask for boon, what do you want? Chandravarman asked in his boon, O Pitamah, I wish that the fame of my dynasty should remain forever, that my descendants should do such great deeds to protect the religion and carry forward the name of the clan and there should be victory and even if there is death in the war, then it would be great bravery. Died while showing. Then Chandra Dev gave a boon and said,
O Chandelkulbhushan Chandravarman! I make a rule, you should consider it as a promise, as long as this rule is not broken by the Kshatriyas of your great, most sacred Chandel Yadav dynasty, your dynasty will not fall, this is my boon. Here are those rules:
1. After the Yajnopavit Sanskar in adolescence, all the Chandel Kshatriyas of the royal family and their direct descendants used the word Varman and other Chandel Kshatriyas used the word Varma in front of their names.
2. He will not eat meat
3. He will not have any kind of physical relationship with any woman other than his own wife.
4. He will not drink meat.
5. He will not kill Brahmins.
6. He must not violate religion in any way.

These thing are strictly prohibited for Chandel men and their wife. All Chandels should not leave these rules under any circumstances and remain strictly religious. He then gave Chandravarman a divine bow similar to Saranga bow. Chandravarman went to the area of tribal Gonds away from Kalanjar, settled it there and built a grand city and made it the military capital of Chandels. The people of that place celebrated a big festival that day to celebrate the transformation of a tribal area into a city and the city was named Mahotsav and Mahoba. Chandravarman Dev got a son from his pregnant wife Sulochana Devi Chandel (Bhargava Brahmin) on the full moon day, whom both of them named Rudravarman. Emperor Chandravarman had 2 generals, one was named Sindhusharma, who was a Saryuparin Bhardwaj gotra Brahmin and the other was Sumant Sharma, who was a Kanyakubjiya Vasishtha gotra Brahmin.

You should destroy them and re-establish the religion. Then Mahadev gave Chandrahas sword and said, go son, make your dynasty famous in the world and destroy the unrighteous, I am always with you. Saying this, Lord Mahesh disappeared.

Military campaign and reignEdit

Then Chandra Dev gave a boon and said, O Chandelkulbhushan Chandravarman! I make a rule, you should consider it as a promise, as long as this rule is not broken by the Kshatriyas of your great, most sacred Chandel Yadav dynasty, your dynasty will not fall, this is my boon. Here are those rules: 1. After the Yajnopavit Sanskar in adolescence, all the Chandel Kshatriyas of the royal family and their direct descendants used the word Varman and other Chandel Kshatriyas used the word Varma in front of their names. 2. He will not eat meat 3.

About three centuries after the reign of Emperor Vikramaditya, the originator of Vikram Samvat, Shrimatparambhattark Maharajadhiraj Chandravarman became a Kshetra emperor of India. To commemorate the victory of Bengal, he established 'Vishnu Dhwaj' on a mountain named 'Vishnupad' near the Vyas river in today's Punjab province. Emperor Chandravarman had kept one thousand seven hundred and sixty kings under his control as per the formula 'Nabh = 0, Ritu = 6, Rishi = 7, Brahma = 1' i.e. 'Ankanam Vamto Gatih' and had also started 'Chandel Samvat'.[4][5] [6]
