Konaseema district was one of the thirteen new districts formed on 4 April 2022.[3][4][5]According to the Gazette Notification No. 1156 dated 2 August 2022, Konaseema District was renamed as Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Konaseema District.[6]

Mummidivaram is located at 16°39′00″N 82°07′00″E / 16.6500°N 82.1167°E / 16.6500; 82.1167.[7] It has an average elevation of 0 meters (0 feet).

GovernanceEdit

The town was upgraded from Gram panchayat to Nagar panchayat on 23 June 2011.[8]

PoliticsEdit

Mummidivaram is an assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh. There are 1,89,229 registered voters as on 10.01.2012 in Mummidivaram constituency (2nd largest in East Godavari district).

The people of Konaseema revere him as their hero and his statues were worshiped across the Konaseema area.
