PTC Industries Limited started as a modest small scale industry in 1963 as Precision Tools & Castings Private Limited, and has evolved into an internationally acclaimed foundry. PTC was amongst the first investment casting foundry in India and offers a number of molding processes today.[1] The equity shares of PTC Industries Ltd (BSE Code: 539006) are listed and admitted to dealings on the Exchange in the list of 'T' Group Securities.

As per industry reports, about 30,000 tonnes of Titanium is recycled annually through EBCHR or Plasma Arc Melting (PAM) which implies that PTC will now possess a significant market share of over 15% of the world production.[2]

History[edit]

PTC Industries creates casts and specialised products from stainless steel and high-alloys melted into moulds, and has been doing so for 51 years. The business went through tough times in the late 1990s when China became the main international manufacturing hub for foundries.[3]

Products[edit]

The company manufactures industrial castings of various grades of steel/stainless steel and super alloys viz. Cobalt/Nickel/Tungston based metallurgy. The castings manufactured by the company are used in various industries viz. valves and pipe fittings, pumps, cement, fertilizer, chemicals and petro-chemicals, thermal and nuclear power, mining and geology, railways, road and sea transport etc.

Facility[edit]

PTC Industries announced that it has successfully completed the acquisition of the Electron Beam Cold Hearth Remelting (EBCHR) furnace with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes per annum, through its wholly owned subsidiary Aerolloy Technologies Limited (ATL)'s Design division. With the installation of this EBCHR furnace, the world's largest single site Titanium recycling facility shall now be set up in India, and make PTC one of the very few companies in the world with the manufacturing capacity and technology for remelting and recycling Titanium scrap within the country and producing aviation-grade Titanium alloy ingots indigenously.[2]

Financials[edit]

PTC Industries’ net worth stands at Rs. 109.06 crore, according to the promoters, with revenues of Rs 122 crore for FY2014.
