Jathedar Tota Singh is an Indian politician who belongs to the Shiromani Akali Dal. He was Minister for Agriculture & NRI[clarification needed] Affairs in the previous Punjab Government.[1] He is Senior Vice President and Member, High Power Committee of Shiromani Akali Dal. Member of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee.
Family and education[edit]
His father's name is Babu Singh. He completed his school education from his village school for further studies he joined DM college Moga.
Political career[edit]
He was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1997 on an Shiromani Akali Dal ticket from Moga.[2] He was made Minister for Education during 1997–2002.[3] He was re-elected from Moga in 2002.[4] In 2012, he successfully contested from Dharamkot.[5] He was cabinet minister and held portfolio of Agriculture & NRI[clarification needed] Affairs.[1] He also served at designation of Chairman Punjab Mandi Board 1985-1987 under Surjit Singh Barnala government. He is continuous member of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandak Committee (known as Sikh Parliament) from many years.
