Satti Venkata Krishna Reddy is an Indian film director, actor, producer, screenwriter and composer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He has also worked in Malayalam and Hindi language films. He has garnered three state Nandi Awards and the Filmfare Best Telugu Director Award.[1][2][3][4] In 2012 he directed the romantic comedy Divorce Invitation, an American adaptation of his 1997 Telugu Hit Aahvaanam.[5][6]

He played a small role in the 1986 film Kirathakudu. Krishna Reddy is best known for his screenwriting works in hits such as Mayalodu (1993), Rajendrudu Gajendrudu (1993), Yamaleela (1994), Subha Lagnam (1994), Taqdeerwala (1995), Ghatothkachudu (1995), Maavichiguru (1996), Vinodam (1996), Egire Paavurama (1997), Judaai (1997), Pelli Peetalu (1998), Premaku Velayara (1999), Sakutumba Saparivaara Sametham (2000), Premaku Swagatham (2002), Pellam Oorelithe (2003), Hungama, Mayajalam and Yamaleela 2 (2014).[1][5]

Early life and film career[edit]

Krishna was born in Konkuduru village, East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. After his post graduation in Bheemavaram, he moved to Hyderabad and scripted Kobbari Bondam.[1]
