Diesel Loco Shed, Tughlakabad does regular maintenance of Diesel locomotives in [[Indian Railways]]. It is now rated as one of the most premier shed of the Indian Railways. It is one of the 4 Diesel loco sheds in [[Northern Railway zone]] followed by [[Diesel Loco Shed, Ludhiana|Ludhiana]], [[Diesel Loco Shed, Alambagh, Lucknow|Alambagh]] and [[Roza]]. | Being one of the major Diesel Loco Sheds in the [[Northern Railway zone]] various major and minor maintenance of locomotives are carried out here. It is the only shed in Indian railways till now which holds the WDP-1 class of Diesel Locomotive. | It was established in the year 1970 with a planned holding of 80 locomotives and initial holding of 20 WDM-2 locomotives. It got ISO-9001:2000 certification from ISO certification body Florida, U.S.A through Quality Services International/Jaipur July, 2003, as per the required Quality Standards.<ref> {{cite web|title=History|url=https://www.irfca.org/faq/faq-shed.html}} </ref>. The shooting of the movie "The burning Train" was also done at this shed.
