Kumar was born on July 15, 1979, in [[Khatushyamji, Rajasthan]], into a [[Jaat|Jat family]] and did his primary education in [[Mandha, Rajasthan]].<ref name=":1" /> Kumar completed his MSc in chemistry in 2002 and obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Department of Chemistry at the [[University of Rajasthan]] in 2006.<ref name=":0" />
