| It initially handled only ALCo locomotives like WDM-2, WDM-3D, WDG-3A etc. But gradually it started receiving EMD locomotives like WDP-4 and WDG-4. Being the only Diesel Loco Shed in the North Central Railway zone JHS does various major and minor maintenance of diesel locomotives including washing and painting of locomotives. | It was established in the year 1975 with only 5 WDM-2 class locomotives. Gradually it's capacity increased and it started to home mainy other ALCo and HHP locomotives. It has a sanctioned capacity of 80-100 locomotives. | Indian Railways allows all loco sheds in Indian Railways to paint the locomotives as they wish. JHS Diesel Loco Shed also has its own unique colour scheme of Diesel locomotives.
