Mahesh Kumar Garg (born 5 December 1966) is a Higher Administrative officer in Indian Railways, and a satirist, hindi poet and writer.

Personal life[edit | edit source]

Mahesh Kumar Garg was born at Agra. He started writing poems in 1979, at the age of 12. He was nicknamed 'Bedhadak' in 1989 by famous poet Shri Balkavi Bairagi.

Garg has done his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from MITS Gwalior and Masters in Thermal Engineering from IIT Delhi.

Career[edit | edit source]

Mahesh Garg belongs to 1987 batch of Indian Railway Service, currently posted as Chief Technology Officer [1] in Railways.

Achievements[edit | edit source]

Known for his Turnaround capabilities, Shri Mahesh Garg has introduced many innovations and system improvements in Railway working for which he received the ‘National Award for Outstanding Service’ in 2005. He has to his credit the Design Patent of Regulated Discharge Coach Toilet System, a fore runner of the Bio-Toilet System fitted on trains.

Poetry Work[edit | edit source]

Bedsides his professional achievements, Shri Mahesh Garg is an accomplished Hindi Poet, popularly known as “Bedhadak”. He has participated in hundreds of Kavi Sammelan including the prestigious Republic Day Kavi Sammelan at Red Fort, Delhi, Taj Mahotsav at Agra, Attahas Kavi Sammelan at Ghaziabad, Sri Ram Kavi Sammelan, Delhi, Mahamurkha Sammelan at Jaipur, and many programmes organized by Sahitya Akademi, including performances on various TV channels and on All India Radio.
