Sidney Branch (born August 28, 1990) professionally known as Scilence, is a audio engineer, singer-songwriter, recording artist, and producer born in Washington D.C.[1] She is known for her unique musical style and has established herself as a respected artist in the music industry.[2]
Early life and career
Scilence was born on August 28, 1990, in NE, Washington D.C. She was raised in the region that encompasses the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, commonly referred to as the DMV area.[3]
Silence acquired her education as a recording engineer at Studio West Recording School in San Diego, California. As part of her training, she completed an internship at Black Wav Studio located in El Cajon, California.[3]
Scilence had an early interest in music and began her career path as a songwriter and later as a singer/rapper in 2019. Over time, she expanded her skills to include audio engineer and production.[1]
Musical style
Scilence is a musical artist whose style is a fusion of electronic, synth-pop, hip-hop, and elements of psychedelia. She features prominently on vocals and lyrics, which are combined with electronic beats in her music. In 2023, Scilence also released a live LP that was mixed and mastered by the artist herself, creating a unique sound.[13] Other songs by Scilence include "Heights", "To Your Workplace", and "Breakfast in 4 Champs, Pt.1".[2]
