He was born to artist Annada Munshi and Jayati Munshi and one of the proud members of the Munshi family of Paikpara-Talapark .[1] Not only in Rubber-solution based paintings, Munshi was well skilled in other art forms like realistic paintings, graphic arts and abstract arts as well.[2][3]

Munshi was highly inspired by the artistic approaches of legendary American Painter Paul Jackson Pollock, for his unforgettable contribution in the field of abstract expressionist movement.

Munshi's artistry was highly praised in Europe, especially in Scandinavian countries.

On 27th August, 2001, Munshi breathed his last in Talapark, Kolkata, at his own residence.
