Chirakkal Kalidasan (born c. 1980) is a famous elephant, Second tallest elephant after Thechikottukavu ramachandran in Kerala he is the second tallest elephant in India.[1][2]
Chirakkal Kalidasan is currently[when?] at 314 cm (10 ft 3+1⁄2 in), he is one of the tallest captive elephants in the state[3] [better source needed]and is also known for winning in some Thalappokkam (heads-up) competitions.[4]
Early life[edit]
Kalidasan was born wild in Karnataka forests. Chirakkal Kalidasan is a male Asian elephant (Elephas maximus). He was brought into Kerala by Manissey Hari and was later bought by Chirakkal Madhu in the 2000s.[5] [better source needed]
