Mathew Thomas was born 16 October 2002 in [[Thiruvamkulam]], [[Ernakulam district]] of [[Kerala]], India. His father, Biju John Thuruthiyil, works as a Civil Engineer and his mother, Susan Mathew is a Mathematics teacher. Mathew's elder brother John Thomas is doing Masters in Social Work. Mathew did his schooling at Hagia Sophia Public School, Ernakulam. He also studied in Indian School, Manama, Bahrain for few years while his parents were employed there temporarily. Upon return, he joined Gregorian Public School Maradu Eranakulam from where he was auditioned for ''[[Kumbalangi Nights]]''. Mathew was auditioned for the role of Franky Napoleon in ''[[Kumbalangi Nights]]'' (2019) from his school.
