Locomotives of Erode shed are the regular links for all trains running through Tamil Nadu. Erode locomotives used to be predominantly the regular links for trains traveling on the [[Southern Railway zone]] as well. As more and more railway lines were electrified, ED DLS started losing links to electric locomotives, mainly [[Indian locomotive class WAP-4|WAP4]] and [[Indian locomotive class WAG-7|WAG7]], [[Indian locomotive class WAG-5|WAG-5]] and [[Indian locomotive class WAP-1|WAP-1]] locomotives from nearby electric locomotive sheds. | |||
