Tarkeshwar Pandey (1910–1989) was an Indian Member of Parliament from 1952 to 1977.He was member of Rajya Sabha between 1952 and 1971.[1] Between 1972 and 1977 he represented Salempur.[2]
Pandey was jailed from 1932 to 1939.[citation needed] He was the only Congress MP to have opposed the Hindu Code Bill in the Indian Parliament.[citation needed] He is associated more with Ballia politics than Salempur. He has a village named after him in Ballia and a colony in Varanasi.[citation needed]
